Children's Ministry
Description: Children's Ministries is dedicated to teaching and caring for children while helping them to grow spiritually. The goal is to lead children to Christ and to help them learn about Jesus in a loving and caring atmosphere.
Ways to Serve
*Sunday School Teachers and Assistants: You need a love for God and kids and a desire to teach His Word. Also needed is a passion to win kids to Christ and help them grow spiritually Teachers and assistants are scheduled on a monthly rotating basis in Nursery - 4 year old classes and every third month in the K-5th grade classes.
Mentor Teachers: Experienced teachers who already are serving in this ministry will come along side and train new volunteers. New volunteers would observe and learn all parts of the ministry from them.
*Substitute Teachers and Summer Relief Teachers: Same ministry as above on an on-call basis.
*Childcare Workers for Church Events: If you have a love for small children and a desire to serve the body of Christ, you will be helping out our young parents. High school youths and adults are welcome to volunteer for this ministry.
Volunteer Recruiters: It would be great to have a small team of volunteers who would brainstorm ways to involve the Body in this ministry They would pray, make suggestions for and call prospective volunteers. Time commitment: Two hours per week during the months of August and September or as needed to fill vacancies.
Sunday Morning Substitute Superintendents for worship hour: You need the ability to supervise and oversee CM during Sunday worship service. He/she will ensure all classes are covered with scheduled CM Volunteers and that teachers have all the supplies and copies they need.
Choir/Drama Leaders: a passion to involve children in worship programs to be performed during the worship services to the glory of God! Choir director must be able to lead and direct children in song. Drama leader must be able to lead children in small dramatic programs. Assistants are needed to help manage the children on a week-to-week basis during the practice sessions.
*Events Directors: Leadership ability to head up events and delegate various responsibilities to the event committee heads. Events include Camp Creekside, Harvest Festival, and Bethlehem Breakfast. More could be added in the future.
Spiritual Gifts/Talents/Attributes: Leadership, Discernment, Administration, Teaching, Helps, Mercy, Pastor-shepherd, Service, Hospitality, Expression of Faith through arts.
